New Wildcare Board
Exciting times at Wildcare!
Last week saw the new Wildcare Board meet for the first time at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. This was followed by a reception for Wildcare volunteers and stakeholders at Government House, Hobart. Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC delivered a most heartfelt welcome speech to honour 20 years of Wildcaring for our very special island.
The new Wildcare Board was elected at the AGM held at the Lobster Ponds, Flowerdale in late March.
This was preceded by some important changes to the Wildcare constitution that were made at a Special General Meeting held during the March 20th Anniversary celebrations at Freycinet. A key change was to make the Board more modern with a range of skills suited to the large number of branches and funds that we look after.
It allowed for the election of 8 Board members and a fantastic diverse skills based Board is now in place. Of the 8 elected, we have 4 males, 4 females, and of these, there are 4 continuing and 4 new Board members. To see who is who please visit the BOM webpage.
