Donors support research into vaccine to protect Tasmanian Devils
Substantial progress on the development of an oral bait vaccine to protect devils against devil facial tumour disease has been made possible through funding from the Tasmanian Devil Cause of Wildcare’s Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund. This project shows what can be achieved when volunteers, donors and like-minded organisations are brought together through the Wildcare platform.
The devil immunology group at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania are extremely grateful for the generous support of donors to this cause over the last five years, in particular, Saffire Freycinet, Saffire guests and individuals from around the world who can be proud to be part of efforts to conserve the population of wild devils in Tasmania.
Funds are always needed for this and other Tasmanian environment causes in the TNCF.
A detailed Progress Report on this work is available on the Tasmanian Devils page (Wildcare website) where you can also choose to make a donation and contribute to a positive future for our precious devils.
