larapuna Community Weekend in August
Enjoy walking the coastline between wukalina / Mt William National Park and the Gardens. Along the way you will be working alongside Wildcare’s Friends of larapuna to remove the beach weed ‘sea spurge’ and marine debris. We’ll take time to share stories and hear from local experts. There are 5 walks to chose from over 4 days.
- SATURDAY 5 AUGUST – a 13 km walk between Policemans Point and the Gardens
- FRIDAY 18 AUGUST – 13 km walk along the coast between Stumpys Bay and Deep Creek.
- SATURDAY 19 AUGUST – a 6 km or 9 km walk along the larapuna coast to Eddystone Point where we’ll have afternoon tea, share stories and learn more about the natural and cultural heritage of this special place.
- SUNDAY 20 AUGUST – a 7 km walk along Abbotsbury Beach.
Free buses at St Helens will get you there and back if you need transport (except 18 Aug.). We’ll be walking all day on soft sand and rocks and the weather may be challenging so need to be fit and able. Bring your lunch, water, appropriate walking boots, warm clothing and wind/rain protection.
