Friends of Deal Island celebrate 20 years
Celebrate 20 years of volunteering on Deal Island at the Friends of Deal AGM and General Meeting to be held in Ross on Saturday 27 October. The AGM will start at 11am followed by a brief general meeting. Lunch will be byo plate to share, with lots of memorabilia in the way of photos, journals, museum and display banners, and especially peoples’ memories! We plan to celebrate volunteering on Deal, from the initial Bush Heritage caretakers when ownership of the island was returned to Tasmania in 1998 (David and Trauti Reynolds did their first stint on Deal with Bush Heritage) through Friends of The Kent Group, then from 2007 Friends of Deal Island, and throughout the last 18 years, the PWS volunteer Caretaker program.
