Help us care for Tasmania’s wild places, wildlife and cultural heritage

When you donate to our Wildcare Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund (TNCF) you are playing an important role in looking after the wild places and wildlife in our beautiful state, for today and for future generations to experience and enjoy.

Your contribution provides funding to Wildcare groups and members across Tasmania to:

  • help protect and rehabilitate Tasmania’s precious wildlife
  • care for and restore Tasmania’s wild places including National Parks and reserves

All donations made to the TNCF and are tax-deductible. The TNCF is wholly managed by Wildcare Tasmania. You can read more about the fund and how our donations are distributed below. Our website is configured to accept overseas donations.

On behalf of our extended Wildcare Tasmania community, thank you for your support.

Together we are truly making a significant difference.

One fund – Statewide impact

A comprehensive review of Wildcare’s Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund was undertaken in 2023/24, consulting widely with members, donors and other stakeholders. As a result, some changes have been made to how we receive donations. These have been designed to ensure the continuing sustainability and success of TNCF and Wildcare Tasmania, and to reflect the new regulatory context.

A summary of the review outcomes:

  • TNCF donations are channeled into a single consolidated pool that can be used flexibly to support worthy and eligible projects, based on merit and available funds.
  • A transition pathway will allow existing / past donations to be used as the donor intended.
  • Funding will continue to be awarded through the biannual (twice per year) TNCF grant application program which is assessed by the Grants Committee.
  • Applicants for TNCF grants must be: a Wildcare group; the Wildcare CEO; a Wildcare member (excluding corporate members).
  • The applicant/s may apply alone or in partnership with another organisation/s.

We are committed to providing our donors and partners with confidence that the TNCF is a sound and worthy investment that will ensure we can continue to care for Tasmanian wild places and wildlife.

Large donations, bequests and partnerships

We have seen some truly significant legacy projects delivered through Wildcare Tasmania as a result of large donations, bequests and business partnerships. Projects of this nature help protect our unique wild regions and wildlife for the long term.

If your organisation would like to have a genuine environmental impact, a Corporate Partnership with Wildcare Tasmania provides the opportunity to achieve both environmental and social benefits, bringing people together around a shared purpose. We have recently introduced a Corporate Membership category, with options for small, medium and large organisations. We would be delighted to have a conversation with you about the possibilities to work with Wildcare Tasmania.

Bequests

A bequest is a powerful way of leaving a future legacy that will benefit the wild places and wildlife of Tasmania. For more information on how to leave a bequest to Wildcare’s Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund, please contact our office: ceo@wildcaretas.org.au
