Cradle Mountain Spring-bee-FULL
Annual Spring working bee assisting rangers with priority jobs.
If the answer is yes, we would love to have you join us for the OBP survey.
Pairs or small groups will visit different areas around Arthur River on Saturday 10 and at Woolnorth on Sunday 11 September to look for Orange-bellied Parrots.
Volunteers will need to travel to Arthur River on Friday 9 September, to arrive by 7pm to check in with the survey leaders as the surveys will start at about 8am on Saturday morning. The finishing time on the Sunday afternoon will be flexible to fit in with volunteers’ travel needs.
We will run an induction session about the surveys with time at the end to go through how to identify OBPs for those who are unfamiliar with the bird. The induction session will be held through an online Zoom meeting on Tuesday 6 September. Zoom is easy to use so don’t worry if you haven’t used it before – we will help you with getting started.
Free camping has been organised with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) in one of the PWS campgrounds at Arthur River or volunteers may choose to make their own arrangements.
A detailed information sheet will be sent to people who register for the event. If you have any questions before you register, please email Friends.of.the.OBP@gmail.com
Registrations close on Friday 26 August. Note that you need to be a member of Wildcare to register and to be registered as a volunteer with Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania to take part in the survey.
