Nominations for the Tasmanian Volunteering Awards 2021 are now open!

The sixth annual Tasmanian Volunteering Awards are the only state-wide awards program showcasing inspiring stories and recognising excellence in volunteering. After a particularly challenging year for many people, there is no better time to thank, recognise, and acknowledge the incredible efforts of volunteers, volunteer managers and organisations. Your contributions have kept Tasmanian communities supported and connected.

There are ten Award categories to choose from including ‘Environment, Animal Care and Conservation’ – dedicated to the many volunteers who participate in land and environmental conservation and education; the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned animals; and the frequently overlooked support that goes on behind the scenes. Whether it be fundraising or creating awareness of issues, being outdoors regardless of the weather to care for animals, or working up a sweat with conservation management, this Award recognises the devotion of these volunteers.

This year a new category – the Youth Volunteer Award – has been introduced to shine a light on all Tasmanian volunteers 25 years and younger.

Nominations are open until midnight 15 March 2021. You can nominate multiple people and all nominees will receive a certificate of appreciation.
Winners will be announced on Monday 17 May – marking National Volunteer Week – at a special event at Government House.

Nominations can be done online via Volunteering Tasmania website:
