Welcome Wildcare CEO
WELCOME TO SHARON SMITH, WILDCARE’S NEW CEO.
Wildcare’s new CEO, Sharon Smith started this week and will be working part-time in the Wildcare Office.
Sharon graduated in Economics from UTas and has a range of financial and governance qualifications. She has over 20 years senior corporate experience including strategy development, performance measurement, marketing and communications, financial planning, partnerships and customer service. She has experience working in and with senior management teams and Boards.
Sharon has always had a passion for the environment and over the past 3 years has been increasingly active in pursuing this passion, establishing a landcare group in her community which now works in partnership with the local Council and Primary School. She also is a former member of the Landcare Tasmania Board, and was Acting Chair before leaving to take up the Wildcare CEO position.
She returned to study in 2018, currently undertaking a Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies degree part-time at UTas.
